SpaceX CEO Elon Musk called with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Saturday and revealed that Ukraine will get additional Starlink satellite internet terminals next week.
“Asked Elon Musk a question. I appreciate him for his words and actions in favour of Ukraine “In a tweet, Zelenskiy referred to himself. Starlink is the only non-Russian communications infrastructure still operational in certain sections of Ukraine after Russia’s incursion, according to Musk on Thursday.
People in Ukraine who use the Starlink systems should be careful because the “probability of being targeted is very high,” said Musk at the same time. On Thursday, he told people to only use the devices when they need them and to keep the antennas as far away from people as possible. Musk said that light camouflage could be put over the antennas to hide them from the eyes.
Musk tweeted on Friday that Starlink would not block Russian news sources. He said that free speech issues were the reason.
